This story is the culmination of a lot of things I’ve been thinking about lately: sound design (thank you to my friends at One Thousand Birds), podcasting (big ups to my pal and on-again-off-again colleague, Amy Devers, of the most excellent Clever podcast), and, of course, spooky season and all the creepy tales that come with it — especially this October courtesy of the always stellar Full Body Chills and I Hear Fear podcasts.
This particular piece of Halloween-inspired ephemera has been stuck in my head for awhile now. Thankfully my wife and son finally helped pry it out of me on a recent, eery (in the best possible way) visit to the Griswold Inn in Essex, Connecticut.
